If you can't get it to turn on, it could be for several reasons. It may be that Jane has activated the key lock. It could also be that your control board is malfunctioning. Can you describe what symbols you see on the control panel or display when you turn it on?
Does a key symbol also light up?
If the key symbol would light up then you would have activated the key lock. But if you think it is not lit, then the key lock is not active. Then you have problems with your control board. I would recommend that you switch off the unit and disconnect the power supply from the wall for at least 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, switch it on again and try everything.
