We have a Delinghi ECAM23.450. The bean container is full

JA: Hello. How can I help?
Customer: we have a Delinghi ECAM23.450. The bean container is full but the machine keeps saying fill the bean container. What should I do?
JA: Who makes your appliance? How old is it?
Customer: its at least 10 years old
JA: How long has this been going on? What have you tried so far?
Customer: it started yesterday. I am trying to gently stir the beans but it doesn’t help.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: The beans got wet but we emptied them and dried the machine

Thank you for your patience while I investigated your question.

Please try this to solve the issue:

  1. Please try to unplug the machine from the main power for 5 minutes then re-plug and try again. 
  2.  Empty the funnel with the help of a brush as described in the section “Cleaning the pre-ground coffee funnel” on page 17 please click here.
  3. Please check the ground coffee level. If it is full, please check ground coffee container is not properly seated in its place, try to move it to its proper place.

  4. Try to use other kinds of coffee beans.

However, if this doesn't resolve the issue, given the age of the system the unit needs to be inspected in one of authorized repair centers.
