My range induction hob is showing all eights, I had the oven

My range induction hob is showing all eights
JA: What happened just before your range displayed this message?
Customer: I had the oven on baking potatoes, not using the hob at all
JA: How long has this been going on with your range? What have you tried so far?
Customer: We have checked electrical socket which has been tested and is good. Rings appear to be getting hot with a pan of water on but without any control
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Only that we have tried consulting troubleshooting sites

This is a communication fault between the main control board and user interface board on the hob.

Please leave it unplugged for around 4 hours.

Then press and hold the START button on the hob, and ask someone to plug it back.

Now, wait for another 10 seconds and let go the START button, turn it off and turn it back on.

If the issue is still there, the hob control will need replacement.

Alternatively, you may call Smeg at 0330(###) ###-####to book repair.
