I have a new Hotpoint washing machine. It is shredding all my towels!
JA: What Hotpoint model do you have?
Customer: I don't know, I am partially sighted. Where will find it?
JA: The Electronics Expert will be able to walk you through that. What have you tried so far with your Hotpoint product?
Customer: I haven't tried anything.

Without the model  information requested I can only provide generic advice.

Are you getting any error codes or messages?

Please consider the following details below that could possibly be the cause.

  • Check the drum for any sharp edges or splits. Something in side may have a rough edge to cause this .
  • Check the spring that hold the drum in place.Tighten the agitator. 
  • Check laundry. Separate with zipped and buttoned.

However, as this is brand new, I would recommend you should contact Hotpoint for possible repair, refund and or replacement of the product. You will juts need your proof of purchased for this.  Phone numbers will be in your owners manual.
