Good evening, you have what appears to be an original watercolor by:

Tim in Appraisals :

It took a while to track him down but I am confident we have a match. He was a watercolorist who specialized in ships, fishermen and coasts. His watercolors have sold at Bonham's and Christies for £850, £1,000, & £1,600. Yours needs to be matted and framed to protect it and for it to realize it's full potential. As an artist there is very little bio on him. The Royal Navy should have more information if you wish to pursue it. He understood what it was like to be on a sailing ship in a storm, and he captured the motion and the drama so very well. You have a lovely painting. Thank you for the question, if you require any further assistance please ask. Cheers Tim
