can you help, I am having problems with my audi a5. I keep getting alternator fault not charging. My garage has replaced alternator & battery. The repair lasted 3 weeks & the same fault has returned?

if the altearnator isn't charging in the car then its very likley an fault with the car wiring loom as the ECU will send a signal to the alternator to switch it over to charge - it s unlikely that the ECU is faulty and far more likely that the wiring connection between the two is poor

So I'd suggest tracing the wires from the back of the alternator back into the loom and check for signs of chafing , insulation damage and any corroded connections
