Customer Question

I thinking of buying a second hand a3 2 litre fsi 2003 petrol.....( I currently drive an older a3 1.8).
The clutch on the 2L seems to bite quickly after only a little foot movement. Car has done about 80k kms (50k miles) justified by service records. There's no sign of slipping or juddering from any sort quick acceleration.

Hello Austin,

I've been working hard to find a Professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right Professional can take a little longer than expected.

I wonder whether you're ok with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you.

Thank you,

Hello, welcome. My name is Mike, I will do my very best to assist you with your question. I apologize if you have been waiting long for a response.

From what you are describing this is consistent with the clutch being replaced with a aftermarket clutch which often has the symptoms that you are having. The aftermarket clutches almost always feel this way.
