I have an audi that has recently broken down and wont turn

JA: Hi. How can I help?
Customer: I have an audi that has recently broken down and wont turn over . the RAC has said that the oil level is too high as a result of the car “dumping diesel” into the oil as part of a safety feature to protect the engine. is this correct
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: tbh i am not sure
JA: What is the model/year of your Audi?
Customer: it is 2011 audi A3 sportback
JA: Are you fixing your A3 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: so far nothing i am trying to get the steps to resolve and then figure out how to complete them. i am not great with cars the RAC man said this was an issue with the DPF as a result of failed regeneration

i guess the issue is the car cut out and wont turn over.the RAC looked at it and noticed the oil level was too high and said this was because of the DPFi am wondering what the steps to resolve this would be

the codes in the RAC fault report from his EPCSystem Type: ENGINE SYSTEM TEST/VALUES
Name: CFFB - TDI-CR
DTC: P305400,Starter; blocked or electrical fault
DTC: P012100,Throttle potentiometer; signal not feasible

these are the comments from the RACPLEASE NOTE ANY DIAGNOSIS MADE BY OUR PATROLS IS A SUSPECTED DIAGNOSIS AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE VERIFIED BY YOUR REPAIRING GARAGE PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING COMPLETED, OR PARTS BEING ORDERED (if applicable)
car over revved and cut out on busy A14, scanned and fault codes listed, suspect DPF fault and has dumped it into the oil as oil level overfull, control module not allowing starter motor to operate, garage attention required.
patrol towed to customers home address, advised won't be able to get another tow into garage.

Hi there.

It may seem that you have a issue with 1 of the fuel injectors.

If there seals or injector itself is faulty what happens is that the diesel from there goes into the engine.

This means that it mixes with the engine oil itself letting the level of oil go high.

You can see this by taking the dipstick out and checking the oil with your fingers to see if it seems thin.

Diesel in the oil makes it go thin.

Hi there.This is a common issue.
I have a vw golf in the workshop right with the exact same problem.
Oil level was to high and mixing diesel.However without a proper diagnostics by a garage it maybe the injector as well as another issue alongside it.If there was a fault code for the DPF too this will cause a issue for that is it’s blocked.Thanks

Hi there,

If its just the injectors at fault to remove and test them as well as changing the seals can be around £300-£350 depending on the garages labour hourly rate,.

but a full diagnostics of the vehicle will indicate the exact issue.
