Hello my African Grey Parrot has to test for Psittacine Beak and Feather
JA: Hi there. I'll do all I can to help. Can you tell me a little more about the African gray's situation? How long has this been a concern?
Customer: he is going to be boarded for 6 weeks whilst i am away
JA: What environment do you keep the African gray in? Does he interact with other pets or animals?
Customer: and this the requirement from the hotel owner
JA: What's the African gray's name and age?
Customer: Hope nearly 20 years
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know about Hope?
Customer: No just got checked out by his Vet and he is fine eating well

Thanks for your question. The test for Psittacine Beak and Feather virus is a PCR test performed on a blood sample. You would need to get your vet to take the sample under anaesthesia and send it away to the lab to be tested. It can take some time to get results, so I would advise getting this done in good time before your trip.

I was actually looking for a vet around lewisham Bromley area who could do the test
I found one at Barrier vets at Charlton but he is on 2 weeks holidays

Have you tried the Beaumont Sainsbury animal hospital in Camden? They will see exotic species.
