Ask a Bird Question, Get an Answer ASAP!
Hi, Welcome to JustAnswer. You're through to Chris, a Vet based in the UK. I am reviewing your question and will get back to you as soon as possible
Thanks for your question. The test for Psittacine Beak and Feather virus is a PCR test performed on a blood sample. You would need to get your vet to take the sample under anaesthesia and send it away to the lab to be tested. It can take some time to get results, so I would advise getting this done in good time before your trip.
I hope that answers your question? Please let me know if you need any further help or advice.
I am happy to phone, but I'm not sure I can give much more information than I have already.
Have you tried the Beaumont Sainsbury animal hospital in Camden? They will see exotic species.
You're welcome. Best wishes
