Found 4 baby birds with in the driveway and they have been

Customer Question

Found 4 baby birds with in the driveway and they have been crying since this morning. Their mum hasn’t shown up and 2 seem to have passed away now. One has fainted and last one is barely alive. RSPCA said to leave them alone but they’re dying. Please help

Hi there, this is Dr Linda, a UK based vet.

I'm sorry to hear about this situation.

The RSPCA's advice will generally be to leave the birds, unless in a dangerous place (like a road) as handling them means mum won't likely return.

However, if mum isn't back and they are dying, we need to intervene.

Some vets will accept wildlife so you can call your local clinic to ask.

You can also call local sanctuaries and rescues. This link is useful:

If you call the RSPCA back, they are also likely to send an officer, given the update.
