what faults are logged in the car's computer fault memory?

Customer reply replied 4 years ago.
My computer console is giving the following message- DSC failure, drive moderately

Driving stability could be affected when accelarating and cornering. Have the problem checked by BMW Wservice as soon as possible"

Also, I feel my battery is not working at full capacity as it is about 2 years old and gives some problem when starting the car. I am not getting any message for this.

Only DSC light is on in instrument console. In the computer console I cannot access DSC or D TC.

this is a generic driver warning and only indicates that there is a DSC fault of some kind which is taking the system offline.

This warning is not specific and does not aid in trouble shooting. It is only to inform the driver that the system is offline.

In order to verify the underlying fault which is taking the system offline and triggering the warning, the computer fault logs will need to be read from the car using a specialist scanning computer.

the most common causes are a failure of the DSC computer itself, or a failure of one of the sensors that the system uses to control the vehcile's stability (there are many). Sometimes it can also be a voltage related issue, such as a failed alternator or battery.

at this time, your next/only step is to have the computer fault logs read from the car's memory to determine what underlying component failure is taking the DSC system offline. There is no other way to diagnose or resolve this issue.
