I have a 3series 2i SE and after ten miles driving the car surges and momentarily loses power, If I press the DTC button the car runs normally
Any ideas as to cause A full diagnostics check has shown no problems
I will provide an honest answer. I trust this will be appreciated. Please remember that a low rating PUNISHES me for being honest and that I receive nothing for my time until a positive rating is clicked.
These symptoms suggest that thr traction control system is cutting in erroneously and intervening when it should not be.
A common cause of this would be a failed abs/traction control module or afailure of one of the sensors that informs the system's operation.
A real time diagnostic which can monitor live data - not an after the fact fault scan - should be able to identify the cause of the erroneous intervention
Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.
