It seems that my car BMW 3 series (almost 10 years old) has gone in a lockdown mode - nothing happeneds when i put in the key and push the start button.

1st thing to try is charging the main battery - possibly even replacing it as they only last 5 years or so and low battery voltage is often the problem with security / starting issues

I'd also check the main power fuses in the underbonnet fusebox for corroded connections and blown / cracked fuses
