Hi. I have got a 323i manual limited edition E36 1998. My temp gauge stopped working so did the panel test and all ok so decided to change sensors. Did one on rad, have ordered coolant temp sensor one with round electrical connecter and no where that goes but I also have a water temp sensor with thin straight metal brass piece with a can only describe as a nipple at the end. For the love of God I cannot see where it goes and have looked everywhere I can get to. Could u PLEASE help me thank you, ***** ***** If any help my engine number is ***** B 844

what is the last 7 digits of the vin of your car?

WBACB780X0NA18948. This number I found inside engine on drivers side on a plate on top of suspension I assume this what u need. Sorry be a pain. If not right I on way home and can get log book out

That makes total sense. I have ordered the part you mentioned already and was baffled as why I needed so many sensors for the coolant. I shall take part back for refund. Many thanks great help and response. No doubt speak again Richard Hudson.
