All, Hopefully someone can help me out with the problem

Customer Question

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me out with the problem I am having:
Basically, I can start and drive my car (E46 2003 318i touring) then at a random point the car just dies, the EML, ASL, Battery & Oil light come on and the car can't be restarted once it has died, it turns over but won't fire up.
The battery is reading 12.5v with key turned. If i leave the car for ages it will start again but if I drive it the same problem happens, battery reads 14.3v whilst idling and hold it with blowers, wipers, lights, fogs etc on.
I have checked the throttle body and it looks spotlessly clean and moves easily enough.
Sadly I don't have a code reader to identify any fault codes.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
When i turn the key to position 2, the throttle body makes a long beep noise, then a rattling sound....could it be that the throttle body is faulty?
How would i know if the throttle position sensor is faulty?
i have changed the camshaft sensor as it was suggested that this could be an issue but it still happens. should i change the crankshaft sensor ?
The car has plenty of fuel & oil

do you have spark after the car dies and will not restart?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I'm afraid I don't would I check this?
Expert:  Steve replied 2 years ago.
you would need to use a spark tester, remove a plug to look, or spray starter fluid into the intake to see if it fires on that...
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
It doesn't start when starter fluid is sprayed into the intake - I don't have a spark tester I'm afraid.

do you know what fuel pressure is?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes, what can I screw to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail to test that it is?
Expert:  Steve replied 2 years ago.
You need a proper pressure guage for that...

I will get one and update when I have tested it with the results
