I have a 430 Diesel Coupe. Just fitted winter tyres and wheels ,non BMW. How do I stop tyre pressure warning indicator showing fault every time I start car ?
did you have tire pressure sensors fitted in the winter tyres?

I will provide an honest answer. I trust this will be appreciated. Please remember that a low rating PUNISHES me for being honest and that I receive nothing for my time until a positive rating is clicked.
BMW uses two types of tyre pressure monitors.
one uses the abs system to check for a difference is tyre rotational size (called FTM)
the other uses sensors in each wheel (called TPM)
if you have the first type, you can recalibrate the system by following the steps in your owners manual / idrive (vehicle info>vehicle status>FTM reset>start engine>press reset>drive off)
if you have the second type and did not fit sensors, then the only possible way to have the warning turned off is to have the system permanently disabled by a BMW main dealer who would need to update the programming to turn it off, then when you put your other wheels back on after winter, program it back on again.
Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.
