No reverse gear on my 320d, 2010.
Assistant: How many miles are on the car? Have you noticed any fluid leaks lately?
Customer: 57,000, now you say fluid leak.!,!!
Thought it was just a little water on my drive!!
Assistant: Are you fixing your 57 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, booked into my local BMW garage tomorrow, but my confidence has go
in them.
Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I had a previous problem with my traction control, after doing research on a forum
and showing BMW the result, they then said ok we will waver the charge (£760) admitting that their was a problem with traction control on the 320d.......
I had to bring this to their attention, or else they would have charged me.
I thought if I had some advise or suggestions, I would be prepared, cause I think
they will say...... NEW GEARBOX.!!!!

I can't get reverse gear, all forward gears perfect. Their where no warning signs.

there are two common things that cause no reverse
a bad solenoid, and a bad clutch drum.
both are internal transmission failures, which require the transmission be opened for repair. Main dealers do not typically do this work so are usually inclined to recommed gearbox replacement. So, if you are interested in a non-replacement solution, I would suggest you take the vehicle to a gearbox specialist.
