hi mike no warning lights....... when car gets to 1500 revs rattle goes... no loss of power cheers pat

The noise that you are describing is consistent with the lifters not priming up properly. The most common reason for this is some sludge or debris in the engine restricting the flow. What I would suggest as a first step is to have the engine flushed and then the oil and filter changed out.
