Customer Question

I have a 1995 2.5L diesel Mazda Bongo which WILL NOT do an 'emergency stop' when I STAMP on the brake pedal but just pulls-up in it's own good time; very unnerving! I have fitted it with Ferodo FDB1445 pads on the front & FDB1446 on the rear plus new discs all round. My Garage Owner/Mechanic has checked the vac. pump; 25" Hg at idle & 30" when revved a little and now wonders whether the Servo unit could have a problem. (The master cylinder is clean, leading him to think that it has been changed fairly recently. (I bought the vehicle second-hand and was driven in it by the previous owner and it seemed to have a good reaction to pressure applied to the pedal at the time)). I am now afraid to go on a journey in case I could not stop and this worries me.
