yes there are a couple of computerised control units to run the engine, transmisson and other body control aspects

1st thing to ask if if the dash is lighting up as normal ?

as if not then this would indicate a problem with the security system

if this is OK then it could be a lack of fuel pressure from the electrical pump at the tank.

If the connections to the pump are corroded or damaged then the pump could stop at any time or could not be running at full speed. Check that its relay switches in and out and the relay contacts are clean and bright – replace the relay if in any doubt and do the same for the fuse

if you pop open the fuel tank cap and listen whilst your assistant turns the car ignition on you shoudl hear the pump run briefly

also can you tell me what engine size and fuel type this is please?
