Customer Question

My car has always started fine. Today the car started then engine stopped. Tried to restart car - nearly started but wouldn't. Battery fine, full of diesel. Left it an hour, car nearly starts but doesn't. Yellow 'coil' light flashing. Just tried again and I thought is was going to start, nearly but no! No point in just keeping the starter motor running. Nearly starts, but doesn't. Mondeo 2L TDi auto 2004. HELP!

Hello, welcome. My name is Mike, I will do my very best to assist you with your question. I apologize if you have been waiting long for a response.

From what you are describing the issue that you are having is consistent with a electrically failing crankshaft position sensor which will fail without warning and result in this issue. The sensor will need to be ohm tested and likely replaced.
