Hi I drove my van through a puddle about 24" deep and now I've lost power & black smoke is coming from the exhaust

Ok I'd 1st open up the air filter box and check the sate of the filter

if its wet then replace it

then inspect the small wires inside the air flow meter as if they are damaged then this will damage the fuelling control to the engine

I'd also consider doing a compression test across all cylinders as they should all be within 10 -15 psi of each other
