How do I release the electronic park brake when the car

This answer was rated:

How do I release the electronic park brake when the car battery is flat?

Hello! My name is Gary.
Welcome to JustAnswer.
I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with a reply shortly.

The easiest option is fit another battery, or at least a jump pack, and then ignition on, release handbrake.

It is a very long winded procedure to release it manually.

Hello again,

Do you need any further help?

I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.

Hi Gary...the advice you gave is noted for future reference, but at the time and circumstances sadly no.
My situation was I had battery power but not enough to turn over the engine.
If I had been able to bump start the car I believe it would have started.
Sadly I had no access to jump pack or a new due to the restrictions the electronic park brake placed...I was stranded for the night.
Not too bad here in Scotland at minus 8!
But thanks for the advice anyways.

Sorry to hear you were stranded in such awful weather.

Merry Christmas to you and family.
