i have a Vectra 08 and recently had gearbox repair. since ive had it back there has been intermitten knocking noise when turning steering wheel?

Hello! My name is Gary.
Welcome to JustAnswer.
I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with a reply shortly.

Hello there,

Is the knocking noise from the steering as you turn the wheel or from the front wheels driveshaft etc as they roll?

The front frame has been out to remove the transmission, so it could be either.

My first thought is the intermediate shaft to steering rack knuckle is not tight.

I cant pinpoint where the knocking is coming from but it happens when im turning the steering wheel which generally happens when moving but can also happen not moving.

Ok, sounds like the lower coupling of the column onto the steering rack.

You need to go back to your previous repairer as soon as you can.

They should fix this issue for free.

Hello again,

Do you need any further help?

I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.
