What was their intial diagnoses regarding the clutch issue? that leaded to replacement..
Is this the DSG gearbox or fully manual box
I mean was it seen to be mechanical failure or wear and tear, two entirely differant things to warrant it to be replaced..if it was therefore deemed wear and tear then that isnt classed as warrantable on any clutch premature wear if be it by driver error or driving style and sadly that cost for repair would be on the owner sadly...if it was a mechanical failure or a failure that caused issue with the clutch itself to burn out..which would of been assessed at the time of the gearbox being taken out then you may of had some kind of leverage for if the car was still under warranty at the same dealer and serviced.bearing in mind you are the first owner..
