I drive a mini cooper s r56. I went to drive it this morning

I drive a mini cooper s r56. I went to drive it this morning and it wont start. The central locking works and when I put the key fob in, a few lights come on as they normally would for a bit. but despite this when I go to start the car I get nothing. I suspect it could be a flat battery but its only been 6 days since I drove it last and I didn't leave anything on such as the lights. Do you have any idea of what the problem may be?
JA: Have you checked the fob's battery?
Customer: I haven't no, how would I check this?
JA: What year is your MINI?
Customer: 2008
JA: Are you fixing your MINI yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I would prefer to do so. I haven't tried anything really
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no that's good

Morning my name is Gavin can I help you with this.

Yes please. Do you have any ideas what the problem could be

When you put the ignition to crank do you get a noises.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
There are no noises

Are you confident to do some tests and if so have you got a voltmeter.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I would be yes, but I don't have a voltmeter

Basic test light then ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I also don't have one of these. Is your main thoughts that its the battery being flat then?

As the ignition / central locking works fine I am suspecting more of a starter motor issue.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Ah okay, would there be any advice for how I could resolve this?

As you can not do the tests I would need you to do go to put you post code in etc for your local Bosch approved independent.
