Hi, How are you?I'm Shabaz, one of the automotive experts, I'm sorry you're experiencing problems with your car, I will do my best to help you today.
I would advise you to check the wiring which runs between the boot and car body, it is in a rubber sleeve near the hinges. The wires in this sleeve are prone to breaking.
Please see the attached picture, it may be different on your car but you will have something very similiar going between the boot lid and car body.
Pull the rubber sleeve grommet off from both sides and look for any frayed or broken wires. If any broken wires are found, they need to be repaired properly.
Open the boot lid and take a picture.
Is it a hatchback?
Ok. The rubber sleeve is still in the same place as the hatchback.
If it's made from rubber, get your finger behind where the arrow is pointing, pinch it and slowly pull on it.
Did you remove the grommet from both sides?
In that case, the boot trim will need to be removed and the motor+position sensor needs to be tested. Does the spoiler move freely without any noise/grinding?
If the components are fine, you will have to get the spoiler reset because it may have lost its calibration/position.
This can only be done by the main dealer or mini specialist because it has to be connected to their diagnostic tool.
Yes they can but you will have to pay for repairs. Is there no BMW garage in dubai or even a BMW specialist?
MINI is owned by BMW. In UK, BMW garages repair MINI cars.
I can only advise what you can do to test certain components. Does the spoiler extend out itself and stay there?
When you removed the sleeve, was there a brown wire amongst the bunch of wires?
Was there no brown wire? This is for the sensor on the motor. I would advise removing the boot lid trim from the inside so you can get a good look at the wires going out from the boot lid and also test the resistance of the motor.
If you need help to remove anything to gain access, you can message on here with pictures and I will do my best to help you.
Slightly pull on the brown wires, make sure they're not just hanging loose in there.
