What seems to be the problem with your Leisure Battery?

The battery is very new, but the vehicle has been laid up since Nov 20.
It will not take charge from mains or from the engine battery when running.
When on mains oddly only the fridge powers from it.
I’ve checked the leisure fuses for each appliance and seem fine

Hiya

Unfortunately batteries do not like being discharged and left.  They can become sulphated and will not accept charge or very little charge.

You can try removing the battery and leaving it on a Trickle Charger for 3 - 4 days.  Take it off charge and then check the battery voltage the next day and see if has any charge in it at all.  If it doesn't you will need a new battery.

The best thing to do with any battery if you are going to be parking a vehicle up for a long period is to remove the battery and leave on a Trickle Charger.  Most modern chargers will only charge the battery if it needs to be topped up.  If at full charge the charger will jus monitor the battery and charge as necessary.

Thanks Phillip. I’m actually travelling so I think the best bet is to go to a motorhome specialist tomorrow morning in Calais. They should be able to diagnose easily and rectify?

Hiya

That would probably be the best bet.
