Hi my name is ***** ***** am here to assist you Today the charge voltage should be around 13.7 volts when you tested it and it was 12.4 volts that was just battery voltage and no charge coming from the alternator. Often this is down to the regulator inside the alternator starting to fail.
It does yes or if you can be without the vehicle for 24 hours have your regulator in the alternator replaced.
A lot cheaper what part of the UK are you based.
I am based in Lancashire i use http://www.ribblesdaleauto.co.uk to replace / repair alternators you could send the alternator to them or find someone near you.
Yes for a bit.
No problem regards Gavin.
