Im 26, no family history of heart problems and Im not overweight

Customer Question

I'm 26, no family history of heart problems and I'm not overweight and don't smoke. My diet isn't good though (too much junk food regularly) and I drink quite heavily at the weekend.

About 5 months ago I started to get cardiac symptoms such as chest pain and dizziness. I went to see a cardiologist 4 months ago. He did a 24 hour ekg which came out slightly weird like I might not be getting enough blood to my heart at one point. So then he did a stress test and echocardiogram (I also had routine blood tests, urine tests and normal ekg all were fine.) All were fine so he said he thought my heart was fine.

However, since then my symptoms have got more frequent and worse. I now feel incredibly exhausted (no matter that I have lots of sleep) like I can't get enough breath (sometimes wakes me up) weakness (in arms and legs), dizziness and on and off nausea on a daily basis. I have had to quit my job because I feel so weak and ill. If I go on a day out by about lunch time I'll be feeling weak, dizzy, breathless, nauseous (sometimes hot) etc.

other symptoms include cold extremities at times and it's been noted lately that I look very pale.

I have read lots of articles about undiagnosed heart problems. Please tell me what I can do it's literally wrecking my life.

I am Dr Ken and I will be helping you today.

With negative tests for heart I would not think of any abnormality of the heart at your young age.

I would like to rule out other causes like anemia/ vitamin deficiency/ thyroid imbalance/ stress or anxiety. Few investigations should give us more answers on these.

You need to have balanced diet, adequate fluid/ avoid alcohol, smoking/ stay away from anxiety or stress {Yoga, meditation help}.

Wish you well.
