Over the past three weeks I have experienced episodes

Customer Question

Hello.. Over the past three weeks I have experienced episodes where my heart will miss every third beat, or fourth beat.. It usually happens when I am hungry, but is very disturbing.. I am 54.... There is a history of heart disease on my mothers side. I have been examined by a cardiologist who recommended a stress test on a treadmill, which I had today. The person administrating the test said that my results were exceptional for a man of my age, but also said that he could see slight 'extra beat' not a missing beat.. but it was nothing to worry about. Still I am worried and want to know why this has suddenly started to happen.

generally this is a PVC. These are benign. Do you drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol? tobacco?

I don't have any caffeine. I drink moderately.. Yes I smoke and I know I should quit, about 10 a day.. having hypno soon.. moderate exercise regularly, intense exercise once a week, BP 110/60... when I was doing stress test my BP went up to 120/60, and then 130/70 when it was at full tilt. I do get this feeling of anxiety when this happens.

This is likely benign but you need a holter monitor. This is a 24 hour EKG that you wear. this will prove they are benign PVCs
