Customer Question

Hello, my cat (f, about 6) is making choking/spluttery noises as if she's about to be sick but nothing comes up. I can't tell if she has a cold and this is sneezing/coughing or has some sort of stomach blockage. She's eating (dry crunchy food like Miaowmix) and drinking ok.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

How long has she had these signs?

Does she sound congested or have any changes to her breathing?

Would you say she is eating as well as usual?

Are her gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky?

If you press on her belly, does she have any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?

Could she have eaten something she should not have (ie bones, toys, rocks, plants, chemicals, etc)?
