Hello, we rescued a ten year old tabby I know shes unhappy because she is not eating much. She loved her food before, and she seem to swallowing hard all the time. She was a house cat before and stays in the garden. I can see it in her eyes, can you please help me.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Her difficulty swallowing too often indicates a mass lesion (tumor, abscess) in the oropharynx (back of the throat) in a 10 year old. To investigate this further would require her vet directly visualizing the area and this might necessitate light anesthesia. I understand your financial and logistical constraints, however. I wish I could be more specific for you but I, too, would need to examine Lady "hands-on" to be more informative.
