My male cat has recurring bladder block issue. He had sex

Customer Question

Hello, my male cat has recurring bladder block issue. He had sex change operation and been on various medication for months but he blocked again twice after operation. This time his vet say there is some scar tissue formed and catheter is not going on. He may need referral or to be put down. I have spent so much money on him so I don’t want to be to put down down. He’s otherwise healthy and 4 years old. What’s your view please?

Current situation is vet insists he is unable to put catheter in him as opening is too small and he emptied bladder via needle. He’s asking for referral and another operation or to let him go. I need urgent answer on this please

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. I don't see any alternative to reconstructive surgery. If he can't be catheterized there isn't another option save euthanasia. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
