My cat is having her 1st litter she had 1 kitten at 10.30pm and now it's 3.30am no sighn of any more, she is licking and I felt baby movements but no sighn of her having anymore contractions

Hi there, this is Dr Linda, a UK based vet.

I'm sorry to hear this and understand your concern for your cat.

It is not uncommon for a first time mum to have an 'interrupted labour'.

They will have a kitten and then labour will stop for up to a day.

They will then start actively contracting and labour will resume.

If there are active contractions and no kitten has passed within 30-60 minutes, this is an emergency and she must be seen right away.

Hi I'm sorry haven't got back to you been a long stressful day for me and nala 14 hours passed she still didn't have any I managed to get vets appointment and took her in she's had a c section thankfully went well and was 2 more babys inside she home now recovering I just feel bad for her as she can lick her kittens or perform a bond having a cone around her head so she don't lik stitches.
