I'm sorry to hear this and understand your concern for the cat.
Most often, cats will have 4 kittens though 3 can be normal too.
We should be able to feel any remaining kittens in the uterus, but this can be tricky if inexperienced.
If you have any doubt, or if mum is unwell or contracting unsuccessfully, a vet check is best.
The vet may be able to tell you from simply feeling the uterus or may scan mum to be sure.
If there is a kitten remaining and it is stuck, a c section may be performed.
I'm so sorry to hear about your trouble getting a vet but I'm glad she was able to birth the kittens naturally without intervention.
There can be many reasons for kittens being born dead including an infection or a lack of oxygen. Sadly, stillborn are not uncommon.
