My Samsung Galaxy A3 (6) won't charge, I know the charger works ok as it will charge another Samsung phone we have.

Can you go to settings, applications manager.

There, press the three dots in the top right then choose show system apps.

Then locate in the list, Google Services Framework

Press it and press Storage then clear data.

Once done, restart the phone and tell me if it then charges please.

While following your instructions my phone switched of ( flat battery) what do I do now ???.

Connect it to the charger, then hold the volume UP and Power buttons until it comes on.

Does it then start?

Its come on but the screen is so dim I can't read it and its still not charging

Try to connect it to a different power socket.

Does this improve it?

It is the internal mainboard that has faulted.

A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by trying to hard restart it, and if it was the battery, then on the charger it would have started by now regardless of the battery.

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the phone to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
