I have a huawei p smart 2017. It has stopped automatically rotating. The settings don’t mention rotating. I downloaded the manual which doesn’t say what to do. Even BT help desk gave up.
JA: What Huawei model do you have?
Customer: I thought I mentioned P smart 2017
JA: How long has this been going on with your Huawei phone? What have you tried so far?
Customer: since yesterday. Downloaded manual which doesn’t give a clear answer. BT couldn’t help.
JA: Anything else you want the Phone Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: i just want someone to tell me how to make it work

My apologies, your question was about automatic rotating and enabling this,

I showed you a video that shows you how to do this.

I even put the steps here

  1. rom the main screen, slide the screen to the right.
  2. Tap the "Settings" icon.
  3. Tap "Display."
  4. Tap "Auto-rotate screen" to select the check box. ...
  5. To return to the main screen, press the HOME key twice.

If the issue is not about automatic rotating, please tell me what it is.

The videoclip shows how to go to simple display and back. Unrelated to my question. In settings display there is no mention of autorotate.

Yes this also disables Auto Rotate, when in simple mode.

Did you do the instructions? Please let me know

Turned simple mode on and off. Back to normal non-simple screen. Still no mention of autorotation.

You do not turn it on and off, but just switch it.

We will try another way.

Slide from the top of the screen down until you see the icons, you will see the icon as in the picture below

Select it so it is blue again please.

The autorotate icon is not there. The others are.

Please go to settings, then apps, then press on the three dots top right then show system apps.

Done. Options are App permission, App links, Special access, Hide system processes, Reset app preferences

Now locate the app in that list call Google Services Framework.

Press it and press Storage then clear data.

Then restart the phone and tell me if it now auto rotates please.
