Hi I have just bought an Acer Aspire V5 touchscreen MINI Laptop and on start up I could connect to my WiFi no problem, I have since installed a JCV camera Everio programme and since this was done I can no longer access my WiFi/Internet wireless connection=Help!!!!!!!
Hello, and thanks for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will help you today.

You can try to restore your laptop and test again:

We can proceed with System Restore. This process will restore your system back to the settings at a date selected.

IMPORTANT: System restore will only restore the settings/registries of your system. Your data are SAFE. If the restore points are too far back, like 6 weeks or older, you only proceed if you DID NOT install any new programs or updates.

  1. Go to START->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools.
  2. You will see System Restore here.
  3. RIGHT CLICK on System Restore and select Run as administrator.
  4. Select the date BEFORE the issue started. Then proceed with the restore.
  5. After the system restored, your computer will reboot.
  6. Test your laptop to see if wifi is working or not.

If this method did not work or you need more help, please reply back to continue our conversation. Otherwise, kindly rate my service. Thank you!

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your help, unfortunately it did not work. It must have been when the JVC programme was installed that the settings changed for some reason. I tried restoring to an earlier date but obviously this took the programme out of the system, I have re-instated it now but think it best to wait for a guy from work that has offered to take a look for me. It is a brand new laptop so shouldn't be too much of a problem, fingers crossed. I might come back to you again tomorrow afternoon if that is ok.

Many thanks

Sure Joni.

Another method you can try as follows:

Start --> Programs --> Accessories. Right Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. Then type each line and press Enter.

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

netsh winsock reset catalog

netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your system after all 4 commands is run. Then test your issue again.

Still not working? You can go to Control Panel->Device Manager. On the list, expand Network adapters. Right click on the wireless adapter and select Uninstall. DO NOT CHECK THE BOX TO DELETE DRIVER. Just leave it unchecked. Reboot your laptop and test again. Wifi driver will be installed back.

Thanks for your rating. No need to rate anymore. Please come back and let me know how it worked out. I will be glad to assist.
