No the users are updating files locally and they are then displayed publically for users to read or download.
Thanks this looks very promising. I have mapped the sharepoint site as shown and downloaded Synctoy
However, the sync toy does not seem to be able to see the new sharepoint mapping it only sees the traditional local shares?
Any ideas what to do now?
In theory that's right. However, what windows has done despite using network mapping as described in the instructions is make this a file link. see attached screen print.
Have attached a document to my previous post now.
I did follow the instructions. Please try them yourself and you will see that you get the same result.
Please also note the comments at the end of the instructions from others who have tried to use them to map sharepoint sites.
I understand what you are saying. I can map network drives normally.
I followed the instructions again to the letter but I got the same result. I tried right click on the sharepoint folder but there is not map network option to choose on the context menu.
Did you read the comments on the instructions. I tried this but cannot make it work either. Any other ideas?
When I use the net use command, I still don't see the mapped drive I just created appearing. Other mapped drives work fine, but not one created linking to Sharepoint. Any ideas?
Edit: Ahhh... there's really no point using the "map network drive" gui from windows. Just do as fade to black says. Open a command prompt and use the net use command with the address of sharepoint folder you want to sync to.
Hi. Interesting, but can't make it work. At the end of the Map Network Drive, I have to give a name for the resorce, e.g. testdrive.sharepoint.abc.com. But SyncToy needs a drive letter for the folder, e.g. Z: Where did I go wrong?
Oh I see, it's this easy: net use z: http://testdrive.sharepoint.ab...
System error 224 and an error message about trusted sites (which this one is already listed and the need to have the site set to login automatically. I do not think that can be done on sharepoint can it?
net use z: https://synergyfostering.sharepoint.com
