Hi there and welcome my name is Colin

The support of Wpa on a wireless adaptor is based on the wireless adaptor capabilities itself and the driver software it is using.

If the driver was written pre wpa then their may be an updated version that has wpa support added provided the adaptor is physically wpa capable. Can you tell me the model of the wireless adaptor in your computer or the computer model of you are not sure so i can check on it's level of support for wpa ?

Thank you.

300mbps wireless n pci express adapter,model

That adaptor is a TP link pci card so i assume this is an add on in your desktop pc ?

It has full support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 as it is a fairly new card. Are you sure your router is set to use WPA for it's security and not manually set for WEP ?

I would expect the drivers with that card to not have a problem with WPA

Have you set it for WPA and it works now ?

If not here is a link to the tutorial for changing it

Should you want to update the TP link drivers this is the link. The latest version only has support for Win 8 added so unless that is on the cards, if it works i would leave as is.

By the way the TP link website can be flakey and sometimes goes offline.
