Jerry Hannell :

hello sir/madam

Jerry Hannell :

when you install a new operating system, during installation, it will ask you WHERE you want to install windows.

Jerry Hannell :

it will show a screen like this:

Jerry Hannell :

Jerry Hannell :

when you see this part, select your previous installation by pressing the DELETE button. this will delete the partition on your harddisk that includes your operating system.

Jerry Hannell :

after deleting it, you can install windows on your empty harddisk

Jerry Hannell :

when you do this, EVERYTHING on the harddisk will be DELETED. that's why you will need to backup your important files before installing your new operating system on your computer.

when you buy a setup disk (windows operating system), it will be bootable.
bootable means that, your computer will read your cd automatically when you restart your computer.

1) insert your CD
2) turn off your computer
2) turn on your computer
3) your computer will start reading your cd automatically. it will show you a text on the black screen like this: "press a key to boot from CD". when you see this, press enter. and the installation will start.
4) follow on-screen instructions carefully.

the screens look like this:
