My sister and I both over 90 and disabled( I am also deaf)

This answer was rated:

My sister and I both over 90 and disabled( I am also deaf) and rely greatly on the phone and e-mail. Yesterday the BT engineer installed Hub 5 but a difficulty has become apparent. The computer works ok with a blue light showing but my sister's moveable phone does not ring or give a dialling tone. We have two moveable sockets as well as the master phone and the phone near the computer both of which are ok. My account number is XXXXX(NNN) NNN-NNNN and phone 028 40624077

Thank you

The moveable phone Robert, which plug in the BT Hub it is connected to?

Thank you
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I'm not sure. moveable phone is in another room. There is a connection to socket 1 on the Hub

Thank you

That plug is for the network, there is no telephone connection on the Hub 5

Can you plug it directly into the wall socket telephone plug as this is where it goes Robert.

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

It was quite a job making the connection but all is now working. should your installer have anticipated this? At my age I don't want to pay a subscription so could you please cancel that future offer. Thank you.

No, as most people have it connected directly to the wall Robert, they only ensure it runs the internet for you.

I understand about the subscription and no problem, just do not sign up.
