Customer Question

I have a Samsung N150 net book and the usb ports are becoming less sensitive; ie I plug in 'key drives' or a wireless mouse and it takes ages for the port to be recognised.

is there any ay I can clean the usb port so that it recognises things plugged in quicker?

Hi! My name is Josh and I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

The only thing that you can do to 'clean' the ports is to use a can of compressed air and plug it into the port.

Does anything else on your computer run slow? It could be that too many programs are running and it is taking a while to recognize it.

what? is that all you can come up with? blow it out with some compressed air!

i was expecting something along the lines of cleaning it out, tightening it up so it grips the usb plug or something more than blow some air up its ass!

i am feeling that i have had smoke blown up my ass by justanswer.

Sorry Josh,

no there are not many programmes running just office and that is 1 application at a time.

i plug in the usb mouse, pointer or memory stick in the port and it takes time to recognise it. i think it is because the ports are old or dirty.

with other electrical connections you can re-sensitise them by getting back to bare metal or refreshing the connections etc.

Programs can run in the background that you do not know about.

Let's try something..

Please click on Start then type in MSCONFIG. RIGHT click on MSCONFIG and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Click on the Startup tab and disable all

Click APPLY then OK

You will be prompted for a restart. Restart your computer.

After the restart, wait 1 minute and try plugging in the usb device and see if the load time is quicker.
