Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Thanks Fred.

First thing to do, can you put new ink cartridges in the printer please, then try to print.

Tell me if they still come out blank please.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I put old colour cartridges in and now have poor prints.

Can you tell me how they are poor?

You mean like not much ink?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes not complete cover

ok, you put Old cartridges in, so it is pointing to the current cartridges as being faulty.

I want you please to put in new cartridges.

Can you do that please?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Do not have new cartridges to hand so will sign off and obtain them.

Thanks Fred, I marked this to not close, so let me know when you have done this please.

Thank you

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

have now fitted new cartridges- now printing but red coming out yellow, Have double checked cartridges in correct places

Thanks Fred,

I would like you please to do a clean of the print head by doing the following

1 Press Menu> until the Utilities Menu appears.

2 Press Select.

3 Press Menu> until Clean Printheads appears on the second line of the display.

4 Press Select.

5 Press Menu> until Long Clean appears on the second line of the display.

6 Press Select.

7 Once the Long Clean finishes, a test page prints four color bars with a corresponding
number below each color.
A Clean [1]?=Go/Stop message appears on the operator panel display for each
color bar.

8 For each color bar, press the Stop button if the quality is satisfactory or the Go button
if the quality is not improved.
If you pressed Go for any of the color bars, the printer does another Long Clean. A
Cleaning Printheads message appears on the display. After a few seconds the
printer prints another test page with all four colors.

9 Because a Long Clean uses so much ink, we recommend not doing more than two.
When the Clean [1]?=Go/Stop message appears on the operator panel display,
press the Stop button for each color bar

Let this complete and when it has, tell me if it is now printing correctly please.

Thank you

I have no menu button!

It will be a button with OK on it Fred.

You see that on the control panel?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

OK button does not have "Utilities"or "clean print heads"or a second line!

ok, strange as it is for the model you gave..

But do this please

Turn the printer off.

Open the front cover

Remove the print cartridge assembly out of the printer

Place the print cartridge assembly on a flat, clean surface.

Warning: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

Locate the glass printhead lens, which is located within the recessed area in the top

Gently wipe the printhead lens with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

Warning: Not using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth may result in damage to the printhead lens.

Install the print cartridge assembly into the printer b
the print cartridge assembly in as far as it will go.

Close the front cover.

Turn the printer on and try to print.

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

The front cover cannot be removed! You must have a different model other than S300 S400!

It can be removed, else how are you putting in the ink cartridges?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

By lifting cover got able to get to printhead and clean as you suggest. Prints now much better but red still comes out as yellow. Never the less thanks for your help, think I can now manage.

Your welcome Fred.
