Please read through the instructions before trying them so you understand what needs to be done.
I was able to confirm that the account is still active. So as long as the email was not deleted it should still be in the inbox.
In order to get back into the account you will need to reset the password.
You can do that by going to the following link:https://account.live.com/password/reset
After you enter the address you will need to confirm your identity by answering the security question you placed on the account when you created it.
If you have forgotten that answer you will need to choose the option that says you no longer have access to the answer.
Then you will need to provide an email address you do have access to or do a questionairre about the account to prove that it is yours.
This can be very difficult and confusing.
If you think this is too difficult and would like me to do it click the get extra help button. I will try and gain access to the account on my own or I may use the option of connecting to your computer and going through the steps with you.
