Suspect hard drive failed.

My name is James

Welcome to Just Answer

BIOHD-8 normally indicates your hard drive has failed or is about to fail.

What you need to do is remove the hard and install it in another computer or connect it to another computer using a Caddy these are really cheap to backup your files and data.

Replace the drive with another one of the same type which is a 2.5 sata drive

These are quite cheap now , install Windows and copy your data back

Hi James

Perhaps I should have let you know which model PC I have, or you should have asked me first.

I bought a 2.5 sata drive as you said, only to find out I needed a 3.5 drive for this PC.

Not best pleased.

Id return the adapter for 3.5 one

aslo have y ou installed the new drive yet ?
