while changing my selection of books on my Kindle i inadvertably deleted library from my Kindle. resulting in my being unable download books from my library

Since I'm not 100% certain of your model I'll suggest two ways to reset the device.

Power the device off and then back on so that you are on the passcode screen.

The first is to enter in the passcode field:###-##-####/p>

Should that not work continue entering incorrect passwords. After the fifth attemp you will be given the option to reset the device.
