I loaned my kindle to a friend who was sick, which has now been returned.
The screen shows that the battery is empty, it will not charge nor is there the usual on screen message.
What has gone wrong ?. Is there anything that I can do besides not lending it out.
H. (Jim) Rubie.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle and charge it.
Let me know the results please
Thank you
