I have tried re installing the software etc several times but no luck

If you need to verify your wireless password ***** get the printer connected to your wireless network please follow these steps.

From your wirelessly connected Windows 7 computer hold down the Windows logo key (just to the left of the spacebar) and press R.
In the Run box type: ncpa.cpl and click OK.
Right click on your wireless connection and select Status
click Wireless Properties
click Security
click Show Characters
the Network Security Key is your wireless password ***** will need to be
entered when prompted to set up your printer.

I have tried the download and install assistant but get the message download failed. Now at wits end
